How it works
The tool multiplies your entered amount by the selected percentage, rounds the tip to cents, then adds it to the entered amount. For a group, it allocates the exact total cents across people; when cents do not divide evenly, the first people pay one cent more.
Worked example
On an $80.00 amount at 20%, the tip is $16.00 and the total is $96.00. Four people pay $24.00 each.
Before you use the result
- The tool does not add tax. Enter the amount you want the tip percentage applied to.
- Check the receipt for an included gratuity or service charge before adding a new tip.
- The currency menu changes the label only; it does not convert money.
